Meet the band
Tara Jurczak- Lead vocals.
Tara is Originally from Clinton NY.
She has had a passion for singing since she was a young girl.
Her grandparents on both sides of the family were musically talented.
She often sang along side her Grandmother playing piano. As she got older she was in church choir in primary school, moved on to middle school, and then high school chorus.
In her 20’s she began singing in karaoke bars and took 2nd place in a couple competitions.
She auditioned for The Voice in 2013, it was an exhilarating experience.
Stepping foot onto the live music scene in 2019 at Open Mics.. this is where her passion took flight. Her musical influences from a young age were made up of different genres. Heavy on Blues, Rock n Roll, Southern Rock and Country. Which has influenced her vocal style over the years .
Derek Slate – rhythm and slide guitar Derek earned a BA in music (Cortland State, 1982). He retired from teaching HS Special Ed in 2016 and started an original/punk-pop cover band, Blank Slate with his son Brett on drums. He also started playing open mic sets at the Rustic Barn where Shows Leary took him under his wing and provided mentoring and countless invitations to Friday night jams. Derek met Tara Jurczak at the Barn open mic and they quickly bonded over common musical interests. They created Vinyl Vault together and it evolved into a steadily working band.
